On a small island between England and France, fishermen once needed sweaters sturdy enough to withstand salt, wind, and spray. The Guernsey was born — a practical piece of outerwear, knitted from hardy sea-faring wool.
Two centuries later, Le Tricoteur knits each one on Guernsey, carrying on the island’s tradition of craftsmanship and resilience. The wool softens with wear, making it just right for foggy, damp Northern California days.
All of Le Tricoteur's garments are traditionally knitted using 100% worsted wool. It’s longer, spun fibres keep out the elements, whilst retaining shape and making sure the wearer stays warm. All of their guernseys are hand-finished by local knitters living and working on the island of Guernsey.
